D.B. COOPER - CALL HOME!

I posed a question in the D. B. Cooper Mystery Group on Facebook recently and

received some interesting feedback. Is there someone out there who knows Cooper’s

real identity? No, I do not mean one of the amateur sleuths agonizing over the latest FBI

vault drop, or one of the family members of discredited persons of interest, eager

confessors or opportunistic grifters. I mean a person who knows without a doubt who

the highjacker was – either with the smoking gun in their possession or they were an

accomplice before or after the fact. The guy who drove the getaway car. The wife who

found the money in her hubby’s underwear drawer and compared the serial numbers. A

woman who found a wounded man in her boat house on 11/24/71…you know.

While the highjacking was over 53 years ago, it is entirely plausible someone with the

evidence is still out there. After all, five of the crew members and several of the

passengers are still living so this mystery person might be only in their 70’s or 80’s. Fear

of retribution, embarrassment or protection of family might be valid reasons to keep

silent. Or…perhaps this person, if they exist, is having a good laugh as we chase our

tails and go down all the wrong rabbit holes.

Kind of fun to think about, right?
